Kenya Evans is the Co-Founder and President of Women Building Communities Foundation, where she provides strategic leadership and helps guide the organization's mission of empowering women, strengthening families, and building thriving communities through education, service, mentorship, and collaboration. Inspired by a shared vision of creating meaningful opportunities for others, she co-founded the Foundation to bring together women committed to making a lasting difference through leadership and community engagement.
With more than 25 years of experience in technology, leadership, and organizational development, Kenya has built a career focused on innovation, strategic planning, and developing solutions that strengthen organizations and the people they serve. Her ability to bring diverse groups together, build partnerships, and lead with purpose has become a hallmark of both her professional and volunteer service.
Beyond her career, Kenya has dedicated her time to nonprofit leadership and civic engagement through organizations committed to education, service, and women's empowerment. These experiences have reinforced her belief that lasting change begins when communities work together to invest in people and create opportunities for future generations.
Kenya holds a Master of Science in Emergency and Crisis Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. As President, she is honored to serve alongside five accomplished women whose collective leadership, experience, and passion are helping shape a Foundation dedicated to empowering women, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities that leave a lasting legacy.
Nakeyta Coleman is the Co-Founder and Financial Director of Women Building Communities Foundation, where she oversees the Foundation's financial stewardship and helps ensure resources are managed with integrity, transparency, and accountability. As a founding board member, she is committed to building a strong financial foundation that supports programs focused on education, leadership development, mentorship, scholarships, and community service.
A dedicated educator for more than 20 years, Nakeyta has inspired students to achieve academic success while fostering confidence, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Master's Degrees in Education and Curriculum & Instruction, bringing both analytical expertise and educational leadership to every role she serves.
Nakeyta believes education is one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives and strengthening communities. Her passion for service extends beyond the classroom as she works to create opportunities that empower individuals, invest in future generations, and promote lasting community impact. Through her leadership, she helps ensure the Foundation remains financially strong while advancing its mission of empowering women and building stronger communities.
Torah Thomas is the Co-Founder and Community Engagement Director of Women Building Communities Foundation, where she leads volunteer engagement and helps connect individuals with meaningful opportunities to serve their communities. She believes that lasting change begins with people who are willing to give their time, talents, and hearts in service to others.
A passionate servant leader, Torah serves as an Executive Pastor and as Clerical Director for the Education Support Employees Association (ESEA), where she advocates for education professionals and promotes leadership, collaboration, and excellence. Her commitment to community extends through her work with the NAACP, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, and the National Council of Negro Women, where she has helped support educational initiatives, scholarships, and community outreach programs.
Guided by faith, compassion, and a heart for service, Torah is dedicated to empowering individuals, strengthening families, and inspiring others to become active leaders within their communities. Through her leadership, she helps cultivate a culture of volunteerism that advances the Foundation's mission of empowering women and creating lasting community impact.
Errikka Brooks
Board Chair & Creative Services Director / Co-FounderErrikka Brooks is the Co-Founder, Board Chair & Creative Services Director of Women Building Communities Foundation, where she helps guide the Foundation's vision while leading community service initiatives and creative outreach efforts. She is passionate about developing programs that meet people where they are, inspire hope, and strengthen communities through compassion, collaboration, and service.
Originally from Los Angeles, California, Errikka has dedicated her career to supporting individuals and families through some of life's most challenging circumstances. Her professional experience includes working with homeless individuals and families, re-entry programs, behavioral health services, and family reunification efforts, providing her with a deep understanding of the importance of advocacy, support, and community-based solutions. She earned her bachelor's degree from California State University, Los Angeles, and her master's degree from the University of North Texas before becoming a certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
As Board Chair, Errikka works alongside the Foundation's leadership to help shape its strategic direction while ensuring its mission remains centered on service, empowerment, and community impact. Her commitment to helping others rebuild, thrive, and reach their full potential continues to inspire the Foundation's work and the lives of those it serves.
Nicole Clark
Mass Communications Director / Co-FounderNicole Clark is a Co-Founder and Mass Communications Director of Women Building Communities Foundation, where she combines her passion for education, advocacy, and strategic communication to strengthen the Foundation's connection with the community. She believes that informed communities are empowered communities, and she is dedicated to using communication as a tool to inspire action, build partnerships, and expand opportunities for women and families.
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Nicole brings a unique blend of educational leadership, athletic achievement, and community service to the Foundation. She earned her bachelor's degree from Chicago State University while competing as a Division I student-athlete on a full athletic and academic scholarship in women's basketball. She later earned a Master of Education in Special Education from Grand Canyon University, graduating with honors and earning induction into the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society.
Professionally, Nicole serves as a Special Education Resource Teacher with the Clark County School District, where she advocates for students by developing individualized learning plans that promote academic achievement and personal growth. Her commitment to service extends beyond the classroom as she leads the Foundation's marketing, public relations, and outreach efforts, helping connect communities with valuable resources while increasing awareness of programs that empower women, support families, and strengthen communities throughout Southern Nevada.
Cleshia Silverman is the Co-Founder and Secretary of Women Building Communities Foundation, where she provides administrative leadership and helps ensure the Foundation operates with organization, efficiency, and integrity. She oversees board records, meeting documentation, and organizational communications, supporting the Foundation's mission through strong governance and collaboration.
A dedicated educator with more than 17 years of experience in Special Education, Cleshia is passionate about helping individuals reach their full potential through encouragement, mentorship, and personalized support. Her commitment to service extends beyond the classroom, with more than three decades of involvement in community organizations, including the Order of the Eastern Star, where she has demonstrated a lifelong dedication to leadership, fellowship, and charitable service.
In addition to her work in education, Cleshia brings a creative background in culinary arts and enjoys using food to bring people together and foster meaningful connections. Her passion for education, service, and community engagement reflects her belief that lasting relationships and collaborative leadership are the foundation of stronger, more connected communities.
